I have created a playlist of important videos and added this video there. This message hits me hard cause rn I'm 14 and male and I'm struggling cause the child's wonder is slowly leaving me. People throughout my life have made me feel like I'm wrong and imagining and creating non- physical things is wrong and psychotic, unhealthy. I believed that til age 12 when I started to question the things people were telling me. Now I'm going through the teens and people think being childlike is awkward or corny. Thanks for being one person to speak out about this. I can't tell how grateful I am.

10:40 I was born in 1977 in Edinburgh, so went to primary ('elementary' for my American cousins) school at essentially the same time that is being depicted here for Jemmy. Gaelic was never mentioned AT ALL in any of my classes. It's an almost dead language, with about roughly 1% of the population being conversant in it; the majority of them being up in the sparsely populated north west of the country, as well as the islands of the Outer Hebrides. My late grandmother was brought up by _her_ grandmother and she said that whenever the adults wanted to say something in secret around the kids, they'd lapse into Gaelic at those times. Another useless piece of trivia for you: Although part of the UK, all the individual British countries had a slightly different TV schedule back then and BBC Scotland aired a children's programme called Dotaman (you can see some episodes on UA-cam) that was entirely in Gaelic. It was unintentionally hilarious, because there are loads of Gaelic words that sound like English swear words. So even though I never understood what was going on, I used to watch with joy as Donnie Macleod sang happy songs with choruses peppered with "sh*ts" and "f*cks". Great days.😄

Man. I remember watching these 3 episodes (4, 5 , and 6) and being completely absorbed.

I mean... Given the stance of the galaxy on droids lacking this extra things that makes them people isn't it more ethical to have droids fight the wars for you rather than an army of people that didn't even have a say in the matter because you made them in a lab and drilled propaganda as children and who you robbed of their childhood by not only the training them but also the fact that the oldest clones here are 8 or 9 years old at maximum bc they accelerated their growth rate, all with the express purpose of fueling the war machine (with literally no plans for them after the war is over) And yeah sure the jedi were kinda pressed to accept the clones but like... Also on a grander scale those clones were ordered partially so that the chancellor would look good because turns out the only way to amass an army quick enough would have been conscription and people aren't too kin on being conscripted, also because a regular army can turn on you, they can't be turned on you if you conditioned them from even the early stages of embryonal development, suddenly an army of what is agreed upon galaxy wide are not people doesn't seem horrible and still better if you think of droids as people, because they can't feel physical pain and you can repair "dead" droids

I think this episode shows that Mao, in the end, is more of an "evil" character than Strickland. It's heavily implied that Strickland is one of these guys (like Cortazar in season 2) who has had a surgical procedure done that removes his capacity for empathy. He's literally physically incapable of caring about anyone else's life. Mao, on the other hand, definitely _does_ feel empathy, particularly for Mei since she reminds him of his own lost daughter, and that feeling _almost_ causes him to veer off and abandon this whole thing. But in the end he chooses to ignore those feelings in favor of greed and ambition. Strickland was always going to do evil things but Mao _chose_ to do evil things.

I love how everyone is the hero, from their own perspective. Nguyen and Errinwright genuinely think they're saving Earth from Mars. Mao thinks he's saving the human race.

The supporting cast really carried the episode, and they were amazing. I was thinking if a spinoff series was made and featured these crews of the Agatha King and the Hammurabi and their captains,Souther and Kirino, I'd definitely watch it.

Daniel Abraham (one part of the Expanse author duo James S. A. Corey) called this episode out as his absolute favorite of all seasons.

This show REALLY is that good, isn't it? Such a suspenseful and masterfully done episode. Can't wait till the next one! I love how you picked up on the web that the writers weave, a random character like Ensign Sinopoli's actions have huge consequences. I remember that someone once said that one of the overarching themes of The Expanse is that humanity in general acts just as crappy and selfishly as we do now, even in the future. BUT there are those individuals here and there, who essentially pull our collective chestnuts out of the fire by being good people and doing the right thing! I suppose I'd like to live in the Star Trek "let's all evolve past the concept of money and sing Kumbaya together" universe, but I think the Expanse's view might be the best we can realistically hope for.

I believe it, but learned helplessness, trauma and neglect give a different lesson. People need to see it first, to believe and do it.

During a interview Scott Glen said he respected the Captain of the Salt Lake City (Captain Tom Fargo) and decide to base his character after Captain Tom Fargo... I served with Captain Tom Fargo and the crew of the Salt Lake City as a Sonar Rider during a West Pac. Captain Tom Fargo is/was the best Submarine Captain the US Navy EVER had... God Bless Admiral Tom Fargo and the crew of the USS Salt Lake City SSN 716. I served in the USMC(R) as a CH-53 A/D Electrician and in the US Navy Submarine Fleet as a Sonar Tech during the Cold War. As far I am concern Submarine Duty was the most dangerous, unforgettable, memorable, and important aspect of the Cold War. During my service there have been fires on other subs while out at sea that cost some of the crew members their lives. Or flooding that the crew had to battle that could of sank the sub while at sea. The Soviet's had numerous casualties' during the Cold War where the entire sub and crew were lost at sea. In the 60's we lost 2 Subs.
